Electric violinist Cathy Morris has a passion for
sharing music with audiences of all ages and everyone can tell! With a presentation that virtually commands the listener's eyes as well as their
ears, she conveys
her genuine enthusiasm for music and life! Combining contemporary jazz spiced with Latin rhythms, funk grooves and some Cajun fun she has created her own distinctive
sound that she calls "Party Jazz"! She has four recordings of original music and a holiday CD all of which exhibit the variety
of styles and endless boundaries of musical adventures one can take with Cathy. A regular on concert
stages, at clubs and summer festivals it is her educational commitment that puts her in front of
thousands of children each year performing convocations, conducting workshops, residencies and clinics
and guest appearing with student and community orchestras playing her arranged originals. Currently, after over
a decade of focusing on all original music, Cathy is adding to her expertise
(and library of recordings) her interpretation of the Latin jazz of Tania Maria, Airto, Djavan and others.
